Laughter with a message!

Join the Canadian Union of Public Employees, event sponsor, for a great evening of entertainment and silent auction. This special fundraising event on October 15 in Ottawa - Poverty & Punchlines: Laughter with a message - will feature celebrated Canadian comedians and media hosts.

Mary Walsh is an accomplished actress, comedian, recipient of over 30 Gemini awards and Oxfam Canada’s Spirit of Change award, social activist and host of the documentary film Poor No More.

Don Kelly is host and star of the Gemini-nominated television series Fish Out of Water. He is also a top headliner for Yuk Yuk’s international.

Steve Patterson is the host of CBC radio One’s hit show The Debaters and an internationally touring comedian.

Ed Broadbent, former leader of the New Democratic Party, is the first honorary director of Canada Without Poverty and will speak on behalf of the organization.
