In March 2012, the Conservative government announced a $319 million reduction over three years to the budget of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) – more than eight per cent.

These cuts are affecting organizations fighting for workers’ rights around the world, and for a fairer and more equal society worldwide – including CUPE coalition partners, and workplaces where CUPE members work.

The final decisions will be made in the coming weeks, as decisions are made for the 2013 federal budget.  The time to act is now.

The Reverse the Cuts coalition will be delivering a petition, telling the government to restore funding to help communities in the developing world, Wednesday on Parliament Hill.
