Delegates have decided a national task force should tackle the question of how many delegates locals should be able to send to convention the subject of much debate and controversy at this years convention.

Following passionate debate about HEUs delegate numbers earlier in the day, convention unanimously passed a resolution to create the task force. It will consult members across the country and make recommendations to the next convention.

The provisions of the constitution that govern delegate entitlement have not been revisited for many years, even though CUPEs structure and makeup has changed significantly. Delegates gave clear direction that the time has come for a thorough review.

The climate on convention floor moved from deep division to bridge building and conciliation with the passing of the resolution.
