An agreement has been struck with the City of Montreal allowing 74 parking officers to return to work.

The parking officers, members of Local 301, had been suspended for 90 days after an investigation revealed irregularities in the issuing of parking tickets. The agreement sets out a procedure to speed up the handling of a grievance filed by CUPE, challenging the grounds for the suspension. As well, it assures that the parking officials will continue to work and be paid while a resolution to the situation is negotiated.
