CUPE locals should consider making a donation to or becoming a sustaining member of Hamilton Ontarios Workers Arts and Heritage Centre.

The not for profit, charitable organization is the only centre in Canada dedicated to the celebration of workers history and culture.

Despite this unique and important mission, the centre struggles to stay open because the Ontario government has eliminated its core funding.

WAHC has a number of upcoming projects and programs, including a series of travelling exhibits, which can be brought to your community.

Current exhibitions cover topics such as the history of African-Canadian workers in Ontario, women and work, and the history of health and safety.

CUPE has enjoyed an 8 year partnership with WAHC and considers it to be a valuable social ally. Delegates adopted an emergency resolution at the recent national convention urging locals to support the centre.
