On Wednesday, February 23, Toronto City Council will vote on a Budget Committee recommendation to close the Urban Affairs Library at Metro Hall. Community, staff, researchers, and students rely on this library. Circulation at the Urban Affairs Library has increased by no less than 61 per cent since 2009 and 111,625 people visited the Library in 2010.

Attend the rally

The Toronto Public Library Workers Union, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4948, will hold a rally on Tuesday, February 22 at noon at Toronto’s Metro Hall, 55 John Street, to protest the closure.

Please join the community and members of the Toronto Public Library Workers Union, CUPE Local 4948, and send a message to the Ford Administration and City Council that we do not want cuts to our public library system and do not support the closure of the Urban Affairs Library.
