Atlantic/Maritimes Region staff will meet from June 13 to18 in Newfoundland. The topics are still being decided.

Quebec staff met on January 21 and discussed pensions and fight-back campaigns.

Ontarios staff training consists of a choice of sessions from June 6 to 11 or June 13 to 18. The sessions will focus on Building Stronger Locals based on the Strategic Directions policy.

Manitoba staff will meet from March 7 to 12 to work on Building Stronger Locals and Legal Issues.

Saskatchewan staff have agreed on a comprehensive weeklong session, from May 3 to 7, on Duty to Accommodate, based on the human rights decision Kivela versus Regina.

On April 29, Alberta staff will participate in a special facilitated session on team building. From October 17 to 22 at the regular training session, staff will participate in a two-day facilitated session to deal with issues that have arisen from the health care restructuring votes. Other topics will include trends and updates in arbitration decisions, a Quicklaw review, and the use of technology and specific programs including Excel, Power Point, and Charts in Word. There is a possibility that clerical staff will also be provided with additional computer training.
Dates and topics have not yet been decided for British Columbia.

At National Office, several technology staff have completed or have been approved to take specialized courses in Exchange 2000 server Administration, Developing Microsoft.Net Applications, Administering a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database, Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Transact-SQL. Four members of the National Office Accounting Department have received basic Excel training.
