Five members of Local 454 at the Delta Museum in BC have spent six weeks on the picket line with no sign that employers are ready to resume bargaining. Another 16 brothers and sisters from Local 3999 in BC, social service workers who provide support to children with autism, are fighting concessions. The employer was forced to stop the illegal use of replacement workers last week. Yesterday, the employers turned down CUPE’s request for binding mediation.

Meanwhile, a strike by telephone workers in Dryden, Ontario, members of Local 1000, has been settled.
