CUPE 4989 members are inviting families, friends and allies to join them on Tuesday, July 24 for a solidarity rally and picnic in the park.
“We want to reach out to our allies and to those who live in our community and invite them to come and show their support by joining us for some food, music and fun!” said Ghyslaine Turgeon, CUPE 4989 president. “We are eager to get back to work and serve the clients that rely on our services, but we need a fair collective agreement to do that.”
Standing strong with the 22 CUPE 4989 members will be CUPE National President Paul Moist, CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn and CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick. CUPE 4989 members have been on strike since May 10 – they remain committed to reaching a fair settlement but they need your support!
