For the 10thyear in a row, CUPE has led an effort to collect warm socks for Lethbridge and area charities.

Gail Petrie, a retired member of CUPE Local 290, has spearheaded the drive, which has collected over 60,000 pairs of socks to date.  The socks are collected by staff, students and parents in the schools of three local school districts. The socks are passed on to five local charities serving women, teens, the homeless and others.

CUPE will present the socks to the charitable organizations on December 19th.  Local media are welcome to attend.
