SIMCOE COUNTY Sid Ryan, president of CUPE Ontario, along with CUPE Local 3110 (County of Simcoe Office Technical and Clerical Workers) president Roger Wilson and CUPE Local 2710 (County of Simcoe Social Services) president Robert Penrose, will comment on the much discussed and very secret restructuring report for Simcoe County. In particular, they will comment on whats behind the secrecy and how the union will work with the community to make county government open and accountable to the taxpayers of the County of Simcoe.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees, Canadas largest union, represents workers employed by both public and private sector organizations in health care, emergency services, education, municipalities, social services, libraries, utilities, transportation and airlines, and front-line water services. Founded in 1963 by the amalgamation of the National Union of Public Service Employees and the National Union of Public Employees, CUPE represents half a million workers, 160,000 of whom are in Ontario.
