Calgary public school board’s 700 caretakers, maintenance staff, grounds and other workers have voted 95-per-cent in favour of a three-year contract giving them a five-per-cent raise.

As a result, members of Local 40 will win back the five per cent they gave up in 1994, said local president Fred Latreille.

The new contract will run until Aug. 31, 1999 and is retroactive to Sept. 1,1996. However, the employer has yet to ratify the agreement.

The National Representative working with Local 40 is Susan Keeley.
