Members of the Friends of Medicare will make an encore presentation to Roy Romanow when he stops in Edmonton on May 14th. At noon, members will gather at Hotel MacDonald to enjoy a celebration with music, flowers and a special message for Roy Romanow. CUPE has been playing a strong role in the Medicare campaign with the coalition in the fight – provincially and nationally.

At the end of April the coalition released the findings of a poll clearly showing that the majority of Albertans oppose government plan for health care. As Christine Burdett, Chair of the coalition said, “This new data should send a strong message to both the Klein government and the Romanow Commission that Albertans want a strong public health care system. For Premier Klein, the message is clear: The people are not with you. For Romanow and his commission, we want it known that when it comes to health policy, the Klein government clearly does not speak for all Albertans.”

On May 15, members will gather at the Legislature in Edmonton to send a loud and strong reminder to Klein and Chrt0069en– Yes to National Public Medicare. Contact Pam Beattie at (780) 484-7644 to get more involved in your community.
