CUPE Ontario Division Submission To The Ontario Ministry Of Public Infrastructure Renewal In Response To The Discussion Paper On Infrastructure Financing And Procurement - “Building A Better Tomorrow - Investing In Ontario’s Infrastructure To Deliver Real, Positive Change.

Ontario’s Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal held a series of meetings in March and April 2004 to discuss infrastructure funding with stakeholders from the municipal, health care, education and transportation sectors.

CUPE Ontario’s submission to the Ministry presents evidence and arguments that publicly financed, publicly owned and publicly operated services deliver higher quality service, cost less, are more accountable and provide better jobs in local communities than P3s and privately financed infrastructure.

Alternative public financing arrangements for infrastructure are discussed.
