EGANVILLE Bonnechere Valley Roads workers, members of Local 4524 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), will host a rally, with information leafleting, at the Gratton Dump, on Saturday, May 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The eight members of CUPE 4524 are trying to negotiate a first collective agreement with Bonnechere Valley Township, and talks have reached an impasse. While the workers will be in a legal strike/lockout position on May 10th, they have agreed to continue working and meet with their employer on May 15th for another day of mediated talks, to try and avert a work stoppage.
