Respect for Registered Practical Nurses” (RPNs) will be the order of the day tomorrow as RPNs and their supporters rally to hold on to their jobs providing front line care for their community at the William Osler Health Centre.

The workers, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 145, and their supporters, will rally tomorrow outside the main doors of the Brampton site of the hospital at 20 Lynch Street at 12 noon.

WHAT: Rally for Osler’s Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs)

WHERE: Outside the main doors of the Brampton site
20 Lynch Street, Brampton

WHEN: Thursday, September 27, 12:00 noon

With no process or consultation, management at the hospital is reassigning RPNs from the obstetrics and pediatrics units to other units in the hospital. The RPNs fear that service to the community will suffer, as they have, collectively, over 351 years of experience, skills and dedication in front line care. They don’t want their community to lose this experience.
