REGINA: CUPE members equipped with mops, brooms and rubber gloves will hold a march and rally tomorrow, May 1, to urge the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College to reconsider its decision to contract-out caretaking services in part of the new building.

The CUPE members - including the caretaking staff in the current SIFC buildings - plan to march from the corner of Wascana Parkway and Kramer Blvd. to the new SIFC building on the campus. The march will begin at 12 noon. Speakers will address the rally outside the new SIFC building at about 12:15 p.m.

Speakers include:

  • Don Moran, CUPE staff representative
  • Syndi Fink, CUPE Aboriginal Council
  • Bill Anderson, CUPE Aboriginal Co-ordinator
