CUPEs Hospital Employees Union is challenging a BC law that tore up workers collective agreements to pave the way for wide-scale privatization. The HEU recently had its day in court, arguing that Bill 29 violates the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Bill 29 stripped health contracts of job security protections, as well as successor, bumping and other key rights.
