Last nights address by Premier Ujjal Dosanjh offers British Columbians a clear choice, says the leader of BC’s largest union. They can choose an NDP government to stand up for health care, education, and the needs of working British Columbians, or they can choose a Liberal government that looks after a privileged few.

Barry ONeill, President of CUPE British Columbia, says that last nights television address by Premier Dosanjh presents a clear vision for BCs future.

Our union hasnt agreed with everything this government has done in the past, says ONeill, but one thing is clear British Columbia under a Gordon Campbell government would be a colder, harsher place for the most vulnerable members of our society.

Gordon Campbells agenda is crystal clear, says ONeill. He promises massive cuts to vital public services and tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy.

On the other hand, BCs New Democrats offer a better future for working families in BC. In his address last night, Premier Dosanjh demonstrated his commitment to address the real concerns of real British Columbians.

His commitment to K-12 and post-secondary education will mean a brighter future for young people. His commitment to pay equity legislation will mean that for the first time in British Columbia, men and women will be paid the same for work of equal value.

CUPE British Columbia, the provinces largest union, represents more than 70,000 public sector workers in BC.
