Ending a strike that began October 13, the outside workers in Sainte-Foy have voted on the weekend to accept a new three-year agreement (2000-2002) that gives them a 6.5 per cent wage increase.

Members of CUPE Local 2360 also managed to protect contract language that guaranteed a minimum of 200 jobs and negotiate improvements for early retirement, allowing members to retire after age 60 with a full years income and a bridge.

Another important gain : 22 temporary employees were confirmed as full-time, permanent employees.
