Montreal, Thursday, June 7, 2001 On Wednesday, June 13, the media are invited to a briefing on the results of the union allegiance vote of some 800 outside workers for the new City of Longueuil.

The vote will be held on Wednesday, June 13, between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the seven subdivisions of the new City and ballots will be counted on closing of the polls. Following the announcement of the results, representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) will hold a briefing at the Centre Jeanne-Dufresnoy, 1 Cur-0050oirier Street in Longueuil.

This union allegiance vote will be the first to be held in the municipal world following Qub0065c’s municipal reorganization.
