CUPE continues to grow, with 4,000 new members certified from December 1999 to February 2000 in units large and small.

The biggest group were the 2,400 specialists with Hydro-Qub0065c who were signed up with the help of a high-tech organizing drive that linked their far-flung membership through email and a web site.
Other large groups included the 500 research assistants and graduate assistants at York University in Toronto and 475 municipal workers with the City of Laval.

But equally important are the smaller units that have chosen CUPE to represent them including: ten workers with SHARE (Self Help and Recreation Education) in Saskatchewan; 49 members with the Outaouais Youth Centre in Hull, Quebec; 17 members with the MacDonald Island Park Society in Fort McMurray, Alberta; 23 members with Progress Child Care in Scarborough, Ontario; and 35 workers at Gateway College in Vancouver.

Welcome to CUPE!
