(Sydney) Employees at Seaview Manor, members of CUPE Local 2094, have reached a tentative agreement with their employer.

The new agreement will be presented to employees on July 30. No details are available until a ratification vote is held.

Local 2094 represents over 100 employees at the Manor, including Personal Care Workers, maintenance workers, cooks, Licensed Practical Nurses and environmental services workers.

Employees at Alderwood Guest Home, meanwhile, have now ratified the provincial nursing home agreement. CUPE Local 1635 represents 60 members at Alderwood, including Personal Care Workers, Licensed Practical Nurses, cooks, environmental service workers and maintenance workers.

CUPE signed a central agreement with the provincial government that has formed the basis of agreements at 37 nursing homes across Nova Scotia.

There are over 3,000 CUPE nursing home workers in the province.
