(Halifax) – Health care workers who belong to the NSAHO Pension Plan will target cabinet ministers in the MacDonald government, outside the Capital District, with demonstrations on Monday, October 23.

The demonstrations will take place at 4:00 pm in front of the constituency offices of the 18 members of the provincial Cabinet.

Five unions who represent more than 20,000 members of the pension plan have been bargaining jointly to gain control over millions of dollars in plan surplus. The unions are CAW, CUPE, NSGEU, NSNU and SEIU.

More than 5,600 CUPE and CAW hospital workers are currently in a countdown to a possible, province-wide strike and the pension issue is one of their key demands.
