CUPE Nova Scotia represents over 18,000 members in over 125 locals.

Membership spans across the public sector, with the largest numbers in school boards, long-term care, acute care and highways.

CUPE Nova Scotia has engaged in a number of successful recent campaigns, including a move to ban bottled water in order to promote public tap water and the public service of water workers. The division has also waged a fight-back campaign against public-private partnerships, and is working to keep “big box” child care out of Nova Scotia.

Nan McFadgen was elected president of CUPE Nova Scotia in May 2016.
