Health care workers, seniors and other concerned citizens will rally at noon today in front of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority offices to protest the cuts and changes being made to health care without open, comprehensive public consultations or a transparent, accountable decision-making process by the health authority. They want consultation restored to the community and health authority board meetings open to the public again before any further health care changes are made.

WHAT:
Stop gutting public health care rally

WHEN:
Noon today

WHERE:
Vancouver Coastal Health Authority
520 West 6 Avenue (off Cambie Street)
Vancouver

Speakers will outline the impacts of recent moves by the VCHA that include closing long-term care beds, privatizing health support services, and inadequately resourcing community health services despite growing demands for home support and care.
