Roger Grimes now says he will hold off on asking for Expressions of Interest for a P3 nursing home, until he hears from CUPEs researchers and other experts on so-called public-private-partnerships.

Following a meeting with CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador, the premier has agreed to a more technical briefing from CUPE to take place within the next 10 days. CUPE has also asked for more details from the government on exactly what it is they are planning for the new, long-term care facility.

While P3s have taken hold in many other parts of the country, Canadas most easterly province has yet to venture into them. CUPE is hoping to dissuade the Grimes government from proceeding in this direction.
