Nearly 2,000 hospital and nursing home employees in Newfoundland will get a seven per cent wage increase after ratifying a new 39 month contract.

The deal includes improved contract language on “trade review and improvements in overtime and hours of work clauses affecting temporary employees.

The provincial government has also agreed to set up a joint committee to identify unfairness in pay equity.
