Two Société Radio-Canada unions, CUPE 675 and STARF, are demanding more information and are launching an inquiry into the new plan for the move and the development of Maison Radio-Canada (MRC).

In the interest of the public and of their members, CUPE and STARF are demanding more transparency.

In the wake of today’s announcement, the unions want to ensure that investments are made in the interest of taxpayers and of the Société Radio-Canada and not in the interest of consortiums invited to submit bids for projects.

As announced, the Société Radio-Canada will put its buildings and land in Montreal up for sale, and become a tenant with a long-term lease.

CUPE and STARF will make an official request to management for access to all relevant documents pertaining to the new plan for the move and the development of Maison Radio-Canada.
