VANCOUVER—Unions representing 15,000 community social services workers in B.C have launched a new website. CUPE, which represents about 2,000 workers in the sector, is an active participant in ongoing efforts to raise the profile of the many issues facing individuals and families who use these services.

The website will be a clearinghouse for information, analysis and campaigns in support of improved community social services. The site includes profiles of those who provide services, as well as reports, webcasts and campaign materials.

Because high quality services are so important at the community level, unions will be approaching their local city councils seeking to have March recognized as Community Social Services Month.

Watch for more news and info on the site.
