Sainte-lizabeth, Wednesday, November 5, 2003 The union representing municipal workers in Sainte-lizabeth (CUPE 4520) and the representatives of the municipality will sign their new labour contract at the Town Hall, tomorrow evening at 8 p.m.

This first collective agreement provides job security for the current employees, substantial wage increases and other improvements. The workers we represent have taken a big step forward. We have improved our working conditions and feel respected and supported. This settlement benefits everyone, said Frano0069s Goulet, President of local 4520, clearly satisfied.

CUPE represents some 70% of all municipal employees in Qub0065c. In addition to the municipalities, CUPE is active in 10 other sectors in Quebec including health and social services, education, urban and air transportation, hydroelectricity, provincial corporations and public organizations and communications. With close to 100,000 members in Qub0065c, it is the largest FTQ affiliate.
