As Canada’s newest NDP province, Nova Scotia was the perfect choice to host the party’s federal convention this weekend. Fresh from a resounding election win, Premier Darrell Dexter brought a message of hope to the convention, reminding delegates that “it can be done”.

Over 30 CUPE members made their way to Halifax this weekend to attend as delegates. Convention delegates debated a wide range of policy discussions, and saw the passing of an important resolution to protect public services.


The NDP gives workers across this country a strong voice in government. So it goes without saying that CUPE is thrilled to celebrate two NDP governments, and one of the highest ever number of seats in Parliament,” said CUPE National President Paul Moist.
