National Defence Fund

CUPE’s National Defence Fund provides support to locals who are mobilizing to defend members’ jobs, rights and collective agreements and to promote quality public services.

The National Defence Fund is funded by allocating four cents from every dollar raised through the CUPE National per capita tax.

Constitutional levy lifted as of April 1, 2005

We are very proud to announce that the Strike Fund has reached $25 million. As of April 1st, the Constitutional Levy will be lifted. The last month for which local and provincial unions should submit the Constitutional Levy is March 2005.

National Defence Fund Regulations

The 1967 National Convention gave the National Executive Board responsibility for approving Regulations governing the use of the National Defence Fund.
