GIBSONS LANDING, B.C. CUPE is pleased to welcome as new members the 10 workers at the Gibsons Public Library.

On March 20, the Labour Relations Board certified the one full-time and nine part-time workers as a CUPE local.

By joining CUPE we will have the support of a union that brings together library workers from across the province and the security that comes with having benefits and working conditions defined in a collective agreement, said Laura Houle, Assistant Librarian, Gibsons & District Public Library.

Were thrilled to have another library join the CUPE family, said Heather Inglis, a member of CUPE B.C.s library committee. It helps make CUPE the union for library workers.
