Mike Scott is a member of CUPE Local 30, representing outside workers in Edmonton and the surrounding area. Mike has been active in his local for many years, and currently serves as the Edmonton-area Vice-president for CUPE Alberta.

As a municipal worker, Scott understands the need to address Canada’s infrastructure deficit. He works as a Zamboni operator, and has been a CUPE member for over 20 years.

The Harper Conservatives’ promotion of public-private partnerships (P3s) for municipal infrastructure funding is ineffective,” says Scott. “Our municipal services need to be focused on serving Canadians, not making profits.”

Scott is also concerned with the Harper Conservatives’ inaction on retirement income security, and says reforming the Canada Pension Plan is a vital concern for his riding.

The people of Edmonton – Sherwood Park have had enough of Harper,” says Scott. “Team Layton is the best option for a stronger economy for all Canadians.”
