Rather than have the Minister of Labour appoint a special mediator under Section 76, the parties have mutually agreed to engage the services of private mediator Brian Foley for mediated talks between CUPE 15 and CUPE 1004 and the City of Vancouver.
CUPE 391 and the Vancouver Public Library have also agreed to mediator Debbie Cameron to engage in talks next week.
A media blackout has been reinstated, effective immediately. Talks will begin on Monday, September 17, 2007.
