NEW GLASGOW, NS – The union representing vocational workers employed by Summer Street Industries in New Glasgow will be holding a strike school this Saturday, September 24 at the CUPE area office.

With a possible strike looming, CUPE’s Union Development Representative, Larry Power, will take the employees through the basics of preparing for a strike and being on strike.

The session will last from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The CUPE office is located at 115 MacLean Street.

Attention Assignment/Photo editors:
At 3:00 pm, the employees will be making picket signs, in preparation for the possible work stoppage.

Summer Street is a sheltered workshop for adults with intellectual disabilities.
