SASKATOON:The union representing 260 Saskatoon Public Library workers will hold a Book Giveaway Fair on Saturday, November 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at City Hall Square in Saskatoon.

Free books, donated from each library worker, will be given away.

Brenda Baker, an award-winning Saskatchewan childrens singer, and Joseph Naytowhow, a drummer and storyteller, will provide entertainment for all ages.

CUPE Local 2669, which represents the library workers, invites everyone to come out to the event and have fun.

The library workers began a series of rotating strikes on September 25 to back demands for a pay equity plan in the current round of contract negotiations.

The workers have been without a new contract since March 31, 2001.
