VANCOUVER - More than 200 CUPE 391 library workers were on hand at the Vancouver Public Library main branch Friday for a visit from internationally acclaimed author Naomi Klein. Klein won applause for her support of the striking workers and for noting the importance of pay equity for library workers.

Klein was joined by her assistant Debora Levy who is a librarian and whom Klein credits for making her new book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism possible with her valuable skills and resourcefulness.

Various news outlets were there to record Klein’s visit.
