PRINCE GEORGE Shirley Bond has sold out our youth, CUPE BC president Barry ONeill will tell CUPE local presidents from across the north meeting here Tuesday.

The advanced education ministers plans will undermine our world-class apprenticeship and training program, ONeill says. This will have a direct impact on young people wanting to move into trades in the north and elsewhere.

This at a time when the regional economy has just been hit yet again with last weeks announcement that the Upper Fraser sawmill is closing. Thats a net loss of another 130 jobs.

Assignment editors: ONeill is available for media interviews Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 7 to 9 a.m., and from noon until 4:30 p.m.
