Lévis, Québec – CUPE-affiliated blue-collar workers in Lévis voted 85 per cent in favour of the agreement in principle reached between the City and their negotiating committee at a general assembly on Saturday. This marks the end of a marathon of negotiations.

The new agreement includes the implementation of a new salary structure, as well as improvements to group insurance and pension plans. The labour contract covers a seven-year term for some 550 blue-collar employees starting on January 1, 2008 until December 31, 2014. The last collective agreement expired on December 31, 2007.
