Please consider voting for cupe.ca as the LabourStart website of the year. We came second last year and we weren’t even nominated. This year, maybe we can do better? Poll closes January 15.

British union staffer Eric Lee runs the contest annually from his web site, labourstart.org. Lee has been a passionate advocate for unions’ use of computer communications for nearly 20 years. LabourStart is a compendium of labour news from around the world, put together by volunteer correspondents, including CUPE staff representative Derek Blackadder.

Why vote for cupe.ca? In the last year, we’ve posted many hundreds of news items, research papers, documents and background papers to our site. We’ve improved our mailing list service. We’ve added the ability to send solidarity greetings to striking CUPE members. We’ve added the ability to conduct online surveys. We’ve improved our search engine and have added a web-to-email bulletin.

We will be improving our site even more in the months to come so stay tuned, but in the meantime, please take a second to vote for cupe.ca at labourstart.org.
