KEDGWICK-SAINT-QUENTIN, NB – The Emergency Medical Technicians of Kedgwick-Saint-Quentin voted unanimously for strike action.

The EMTs of Maurice Doucet Ambulances Emergency Medical Services, members of CUPE Local 4212, voted in favor of a strike last evening.

We want pay parity with EMTs working for the hospital services”, explained Camille Tremblay, President of CUPE Local 4212.

Other private ambulance services obtained pay parity with the hospital EMTs. All ambulance services received their financing from the government. Why are we treated differently?”

We will give our Employer a 24-hour notice before strike action.”

CUPE Local 4212 represents 10 members. They have been without a collective agreement since March 2005.
