With almost 25 years experience as a worker advocate and labour representative, Kathy MacLeod has gained in-depth knowledge and invaluable insight into public policy and politics.

“I am honoured to carry the banner for the NDP in the next federal election,” said MacLeod. “I firmly believe that Sydney-Victoria has been under-represented and it’s time for someone to stand up and truly represent the interests and issues important to the people of Sydney-Victoria.”

WORKING FOR REAL SOLUTIONS

MacLeod was a front-line health care worker for 23 years and is currently a National Representative with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). She is also a labour representative on the Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board. She has negotiated and interpreted hundreds of collective agreements, handled member grievances and participated in numerous arbitration hearings.

She is active within her staff union (Canadian Staff Union) on the women’s committee and as an Employee Assistance Program representative.

MacLeod is a long-time NDP member and has volunteered at all political levels. Her years of political and communication experience provide MacLeod with a solid foundation for her campaign for Member of Parliament.
