Ontario’s already damaged home care system at risk again as Ontario poised to lift ban on competitive bidding when service contracts end March 31

Ontario’s home care system has already been seriously damaged by the McGuinty government’s continuation of Mike Harris’ contracting out policy and may now be two weeks away from further harm if the province proceeds with plans to lift its ban on competitive bidding when service contracts expire March 31, union officials, health care experts and home care workers will warn at an Ottawa news conference on March 16.
