Ontario Works staff in Renfrew County (members of CUPE 4989) deliver social assistance to approximately 1,100 clients monthly in the County of Renfrew. Every day, they provide support to individuals and focus on helping them achieve financial independence. CUPE 4989 has been on strike since May 10 and they need your support!

Please send a message to Renfrew Council members today asking them to negotiate a fair agreement with their workers. Then, forward this message to your friends and neighbours, or share it on Facebook.

These 22 members remain committed to providing services to their communities, but also remain committed to reaching a settlement that protects those services and the people who deliver them. The County of Renfrew needs to make these services a priority.

It is unreasonable to continue to ask staff to keep absorbing the impact of funding shortfalls to valuable services in our community. With climbing caseloads, CUPE 4989 members rely on their benefits to remain healthy in order to provide these services and they deserve a fair contract.

CUPE 4989 members want to get back to providing employment services and income supports to assist vulnerable members of our community - please help them achieve a fair contract!
