World leaders listen to the voices of people around the world – so use yours to demand the G8 takes action now to end poverty.

This July the eight richest countries – the G8 – will meet in Hokkaido, Japan, and talk about global poverty and climate change. Oxfam will be there, campaigning hard, to make sure the G8 makes decisions that will improve the lives of the one billion men, women and children living in poverty.

The G8 summit coincides with the famous Japanese Tanabata festival, where people tie written wishes to bamboo trees. Tie your wish to our virtual tree, and we’ll let world leaders know you want to see action now: http://www.oxfam.ca/what-we-do/campaigns/g8-summit-2008 .
