CAS workers standing up and saying no to inequality and unfairness
Children’s Aid Society (CAS) workers at Family and Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County are standing up to management in their quest to seek a fair contract to fight off further inequality and disparity at the agency.
While the frontline social service workers were mandated to accept zero per cent wage increases in their last contract, senior management at the agency received a 9 per cent wage increase in one year alone during the same period.
That is why the workers rejected management’s last contract offer and are saying no to further widening the disparity that exists in the agency. It is time for management to come back to the bargaining table and stop the unfairness with a fair contract for workers who deliver important services to at-risk children and youth and their families.
