CUPE 787 members in Grande Prairie, Alberta, have approved a settlement with Cardinal Coach lines that gives city bus drivers a 14 per cent wage increase over 28 months.

Local president Randy Wald was happy with the new contract and said the new agreement includes other improvements for the 18 drivers.

The drivers will have a sick leave plan, call out pay, better rest periods and health safety protection, said Wald.

The drivers joined CUPE in 2001 and have been steadily improving their wages and benefits.
