Licensed practical nurses in Newfoundland and Labrador are upbeat after the members of the House of Assembly voted unanimously to improve their situation within the provincial health care system.

Hundreds of LPNs in this province have felt the frustration of being denied the opportunity to carry out the duties they’re qualified for, said Wayne Lucas, president of CUPE Newfoundland and Labrador. The support of the MHAs is a real boost to our efforts to ensure LPNs can work within their full scope of practice as they care for patients.
